Halloween Cookie Treat Bags

These three simple Halloween cookies are perfect for a Halloween party or to make fun treats for your friends. They’re super fun and only require a circle cookie cutter and three shades of icing (and candy eyeballs)! Gotta love that :)

You Will Need:

  • Sugar Cookies (or any round plain cookie)

  • Royal Icing (White, Red, Black)

  • Round Cookie Cutter

  • Candy Eyeballs

  • Halloween Printables

  • Clear Cellophane Bags

Step 1

Bake some round sugar cookies. I make the basic Sugar Cookie recipe from Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas, it always works perfectly and is super simple. The recipe can also be found here on her blog.

Step 2

Make royal icing in white, red and black.

I also make the Royal Icing recipe from Sweet Designs, but any royal icing will do. My black food colouring did not actually create a very strong black, it was more of a dark grey, but that’s ok, the kids didn’t care!

To make the red slightly more ‘blood red’ add a tiny bit of blue to the red icing, to make it darker.

Step 3

Spiderweb Cookies

Flood each cookie with solid white icing and then add a spiral of black icing on top.
Use a toothpick to pull from the centre towards the outer edge to make the spiderweb design. Let dry and these cookies are now finished! Yay!

Ghost Cookies

Freehand the Ghost shape with white icing for the Ghost sugar cookies.
Add the candy eyes for the Ghosts - All done!

Blood Splatter Cookies

Flood the cookies with solid white for the Blood Splatter cookies and let dry.

Step 4

Blood Splatter Cookies

Once the white icing is dry. You need to splatter the red icing over the cookies.

Lay out some kraft, baking paper or newspaper on your bench (or floor) and put your cookies on top.

Using a fork, splatter the red icing over the cookies until you get just the right splatter effect you’re after. Let dry completely.
